Locality:Population of pale swallowwort has been present in a meadow/savanna area at Crow's Nest Preserve for roughly ten years. This Natural Lands Trust preserve is open to the public. The site is managed with annual mowing and occasional prescribed fire.
Comments:Population has been hand pulled and bagged for removal for many years; was sprayed with Crossbow (triclopyr + 2,4,D in 2011). Growing among goldenrod, Oriental bittersweet, milkweed, dogbane, and warm-season grasses. Meadow was once sheep (?) pasture (more than 30 years).
