Location:Duval County, Florida
Source:Jessica Spencer, US Army Corps of Engineers

Habitat:Other
Abundance:Scattered Plants
Locality:The site is located on Heckscher Drive, approximately 1.1 miles southwest of the St. Johns River Ferry Station. The site is on the NW side of Heckscher Drive. The Florida Inland Navigation District has fenced the property, so access is restricted.
Comments:There were only 7 Tamarix plants found on the site. Three of them were large shrubs and 4 of them were small shrubs that had been mowed several times. The plants were treated on 1/11/11 with a 20% mixture of Garlon. However, I was not able to located one of the smaller shrubs because the mowing crew had mowed recently and it was hard to locate the cut stems. This one Tamarix plant went untreated. The Florida Inland Navigation District is aware of the missed plant and will monitor for it so it can be treated in the future. No voucher specimens were made because the plants were going dormant.
