Appearance: Rhizomatous perennial herb. Thick, erect, hollow stems that grow over 1 meter (3.3 ft) tall. Leaves are hairy and up to 20 cm (8 in) long. Flowers are white and in lacy clusters.

Forms dense colonies. Can spread by seed or by stem pieces with rooting nodes.
