Origin
Brotogeris chiriri is native to South America. Yellow-chevroned parakeet were introduced to the United States as escaped or intentionally released pets.

Life Cycle
Plumage of B. chiriri is green in color with a distinct yellow color on feathers that separate dark green flight feathers and pale green inner wings. Yellow-chevroned parakeets are 8.6 in (22 cm) in length and weigh 2.5 oz (72 g). B. chiriri is found in large social flocks with a diet consisting of flowers, seeds, and fruit. Females lay 3-6 eggs per clutch. Incubation averages 26 days with another 7 weeks until hatchlings fledge from the nest.

Distribution
In the United States, B. chiriri are found in open and residential areas in California and Florida.
