Origin

(615 g). Young scarlet ibis are grayish-brown in plumage with white underbellies. E. ruber nest on small platforms in trees with approximately 2 eggs laid. Incubation happens for 21-23 days with fledging occurring after 35-42 days. Diet includes crustaceans and aquatic invertebrates along with other small vertebrate species.
