Origin
Amazona finschi is native to Mexico. Lilac-crowned parrot were introduced to the United States as escaped or intentionally released pets.

Life Cycle
Adult A. finschi plumage is primarily green with black-edged feathers. Forehead feathers are maroon with the nape and neck blue. Lilac-crowned parrots are 9.4 in. (24 cm) in length and 2.4-2.6 oz (70-75 g) in weight. Diets include fruit, seeds, and flowers. A. finschi are typically seen in pairs or family groups. Large groups are found during foraging events and when roosting. Females lay approximately 3 eggs per clutch during the breeding season. Incubation lasts 23-24 days and hatchlings fledge the nest 7 weeks later.

Distribution
A. finschi populations are found in California and Florida.
