Appearance
Linaria genistifolia is a perennial herb that can grow from 19.7-39.4 in. (50-100 cm) tall.
Foliage
Leaves are alternate, bluish-green in color, clasping, ovate to lanceolate, 1-1.7 in. (2.5-3.5 cm) long, and 3 veined.
Flowers
Flowers are narrowly lanceolate, 0.2-0.24 (5-6 mm), pale yellow corolla, slightly curved, and arranged in elongated clusters along the stem. Flowering occurs between May and September.
Fruit
Seed capsules are globose and almost as long as calyx, 0.2-0.24 in. (5-6 mm) in diameter. Seeds are brown-gray, 3 sided, and narrowly winged.
Ecological Threat
Linaria genistifolia can be found in forests, along roadsides, and sandy areas. It is native to the Mediterranean. NOTE: Linaria genistifolia can be confused with Dalmation toadflax. Linaria genistifolia has smaller flowers and narrower leaves in comparison.
