Origin
Native to temperate Asia and Europe.

Appearance
Bromus racemosus is an annual grass that grows from 10 – 43.3" (25-110 cm) tall. The culm (stem) is usually glabrous (smooth, hairless).

Foliage
Leaf blades range from 0.79-2" (2-5 cm) wide. The ligule is 0.04-012" (1-3 mm) long.

Flowers
The inflorescence is a panicle from 1.6-5.5" (4-14 cm) tall, with narrow branches. There is one spikelet per branch.

Fruit
Fruits are grains as with most grasses.

Ecological Threat
B. racemosus can easily infest disturbed areas such as roadsides.
