Origin
Anser cygnoides is native to Asia. Swan goose were introduced to the United States as escaped or intentionally released domesticated birds.

Life Cycle
Wild A. cygnoides have complete black bills with orange legs and feet. Plumage is greyish-brown with lighter thin feathers on the back and pale buff on the front neck and abdomen. Domesticated A. cygnoides are all white to mottled brown in coloration. A. cynoides average 34 in. (87.5 cm) in length, have a wingspan of 68 in. (172.5 cm), and weigh approximately 111 oz (3150 g). Swan geese are migratory. During the breeding season, females lay 5-6 eggs per clutch with incubation lasting approximately 28 days. After hatching, goslings fledge and are independent after 8 weeks.

Distribution
A. cygnoides has been reported in Florida.
