Origin
Furcifer oustaleti is native to Madagascar. Oustalet’s chameleon were introduced to the United States as escaped or intentionally released pets. F. oustaleti is identifiable by its crest of small, triangular spikes running down the length of it back.

Life Cycle
F. oustaleti are approximately 11 in. (280 mm) in snout-vent length. Oustalet’s chameleon has the widest tolerance to different habitats out of the Furcifer genus and regulates its body temperature by changing body color. Communication between F. oustaleti is done through coloration as well.

Distribution
F. oustaleti is found in Florida with a breeding population in Miami-Dade County.

Control Efforts
F. oustaleti has the potential to eat native insects and small amphibian, reptilian, mammalian, and avian species.
