Origin
Eupsittula canicularis is native to Central America. Orange-fronted parakeet were introduced to the United States as escaped or intentionally released pets.

Life Cycle
Adult E. canicularis plumage is primarily green with blue outer feathers, blue-tipped tail feathers, and distinct orange forehead feathers. Orange-fronted parakeets are 9.4 in. (24 cm) in length and 2.4-2.6 oz (70-75 g) in weight. Diet includes seeds, fruits, and flowers. Outside of the breeding season, foraging flocks of 100 can be found. Females lay 3-4 eggs per clutch in tree cavities or arboreal termite nests. Incubation lasts 23-24 days and hatchlings fledge approximately 7 weeks later.

Distribution
E. canicularis are found in Puerto Rico.
