White garden snail (Theba pisana) is a mollusk pest native to Europe. While first detected in California in 1914, it continues to be the most frequently intercepted foreign land snail, generally arriving in shipments from Mediterranean countries. This species has been known to feed on a wide range of crops including wheat, citrus, grape, carrots, legumes, stone fruit, almonds, apples, tomato, brassicas, and many other plants.
